I have mixed feelings about Halloween. It wasn't a big deal growing up. It was just a good way to get free chocolate. But I find myself looking forward to it now that I have my own kids. I get a kick out of dressing them up and parading about town with them in their costumes.
But I'm catching drift of a down side. The older they get and become more social beings, form their own relationships, the greater the pressure to have a successful Halloween. A good costume, deciding were to trick or treat, who you will do it with, and most importantly what costume YOU will wear.
Yes, you. My kids want me to dress-up ( I secretly do too, but pretend not to) and for some classes they attend they also strongly suggest that the parent wear a costume as well. What?
PEER PRESSURE is making Halloween more of a "Trick" than a "Treat" for me.
So how do I pick my costume?
Well, if I love politics and still want to be kid friendly, I can be Big Bird.

But I have two boys, and they'll dress like superheroes, so that means I'll probably have to be a superhero too. Which isn't bad. There are a lot of cool female superhero costumes out there. Maybe I'll be one of these, wear a push-up bra and give my husband the late night show afterwards.
Good Luck!
